Why is this question even asked? No doubtingly Tim Duncan is the best player in the league.
Why not LeBron? Why not Dwayne Wade? Why not Kobe Bryant? Why not Tracy McGrady? Why not Kevin Garnett? Why not Elton Brand? Why not Shaquille O'neal? Why not, I can continue but I'll stop right here.
Tim Duncan is easily the best player currently in the National Basketball Association. He may not be a flashy player, he may not fill the stat sheet the "exciting" way, but in his own way. Averaging nearly 22 points an outing, along with 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks while shooting 53%. Duncan is the quiet leader who doesn't care what people think of his game, instead he goes out there and leads his team. Any of those players I named earlier may have more talent then Duncan, but what most of them don't, is the intangibles. Duncan is not only a great leader, but he's a true friend with his team mates. You never hear anyone bad mouthing him, his attitude or anything. He always keeps a positive attitude no matter the situation, be it someone important being hurt, or coming off of a blow out loss. Duncan has all the qualities to be a leader, and he has shown it by leading his team to multiple finals, and winning it all.
Now, if the question was "Who will be the best player in a few years?", the answer again would have been very simple, "I Don't Know". There is no way you can determine who'll be the best in the league in two/three years because anything can happen. They may end up having some heart problems, they may get shot, you never know what will happen.
