The Hornets play host tonight to Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. Philly probably never expected to have to travel here for an NBA game, nor did they expect to find the Hornets playing .500 basketball.
Desmond Mason has returned to the home state of his collegiate days and has begun to gel with his new team. Chris Paul is running away with rookie of the year honors.
The team has even been able to win on the road and despite playing in a smaller market is averaging the third best attendance in the league for home games.
These are just observations off the top of my head, but there is a buzz around town about this team. People in Oklahoma have waited a long time to host a professional team on any level. Now that they have a chance to welcome one here (no matter how temporarily) they are making the most of it. The team has responded in kind.
The "Answer" is... the NBA is alive and packing quite a sting in OKC, now let's see if the Hornets can slow down Iverson and become a winning team.
